Yes. Full IFMA Members are required to join at least one Chapter, Council, or Community.
IFMA HQ provides the credentials, research, and global network, while your selected group delivers local or specialized engagement such as local/regional networking and site tours through your local Chapter, industry-specific collaboration through Councils or interest-based learning through Communities.

IFMA’s Discovery membership is a low-cost ($49) introductory tier for those exploring the industry. It provides limited digital access and does not include chapter networking, credential discounts, or voting rights.
Yes! If you make the change mid-year, you will receive a $49 credit toward your first 12 months of Professional, Associate or Young Professional membership.

Yes. IFMA offers discount rates to support members at different career stages and life circumstances.
In-between jobs, active-duty military or first-year veterans: $100 base rate
Veterans: 5% off base rate
Retired professionals: $100 base rate for retired members in good standing
Students: $10 for full-time students at accredited universities
FM educators: Free membership for up to two educators per accredited institution

Yes. Members can add or change Chapters, Councils and Communities at any time.
All affiliations are managed through your member profile at my.ifma.org. You may join multiple groups. Additional dues may apply.
Log in to my.ifma.org. Your Member ID is prominently displayed on your personal dashboard. From here, you can update your job title, contact info, and communication preferences.

Yes. Members may renew at any time during their active membership term.
Early renewal extends your membership by an additional 12 months from your current expiration date.
All invoices and receipts are available in your member profile under the "Billing" or "Order History" tab. You can download and print receipts for employer reimbursement or personal records at any time. Visit https://my.ifma.org/activities/myinvoices/
IFMA offers flexibility for your budget. You can choose to pay your dues:
Annually (Standard)
Semi-Annually (Every 6 months)
Quarterly (Every 3 months)
A two-year membership is also available for members who want to lock in current rates and save 5%.
If your membership expires, IFMA provides a short grace period to renew without losing your account history.
To avoid interruptions to digital access and benefits, timely renewal is recommended.
