Trudy Blight

Trudy Blight, CFM, FMP, SFP, BID, PIDIM, PMP, IFMA Fellow has been involved in the design and facility management industry for over 35 years, as a consultant, as an owner’s representative within large facility organisations as well as project manager for a construction contractor. She was the asset manager, Government of Canada with a large portfolio in Western Canada and the arctic. She builds collaborative bridges between all industries that contribute to furthering facility management excellence. After joining IFMA in 1994, Trudy has been a chapter leader for over 20 years, including president for 8 years. She has extended her leadership and commitment beyond the local level to include board and Tactical Advisory Group participation with IFMA’s Facility Management Consulting Council (FMCC) and leading the FMCC’s Ask the Experts column in IFMA’s FMJ Magazine. She served as a subject matter expert for IFMA’s Facility Management Professional™ (FMP®) and Sustainability Facility Professional® (SFP®) course material, written questions for the Certified Facility Management exam; participated on the SFP committee since 2014 along with a large range of other committee work. She was the inaugural recipient of the Kit Tuevson Award in 2014. Her passion for the built environment has driven her to earn multiple professional designations including Professional Interior Designer, Project Management Professional along with IFMA’s CFM. FMP and SFP and was recently honoured as an IFMA Fellow, Class of 2021.
