These standards establish best practices for component leaders who manage their chapter, council and community websites.
Target Audience
The content management topics apply to any person involved with creating or managing content on a chapter, council or community website. However, the web developers involved with creating website templates or coding the stylesheets should pay attention to the HTML or CSS references mentioned in these standards.
There are two categories for component websites: sites that are hosted by IFMA and sites that are externally hosted.
Hosted by IFMA
Most council and community websites are hosted by IFMA and use our standard IFMA component template. The website content is maintained by component leaders.
Externally hosted
Most chapters host and maintain their own websites. These websites are not designed by IFMA, but should still adhere to the minimum branding and web requirements specified by IFMA.
