IFMA announces 2020-21 executive committee of the global board of directors

IFMA is pleased to announce the member-elected executive committee (EC) of its global board of directors for the 2020-21 fiscal year (July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021). Members of the EC serve one-year terms.

July 1 will mark the first day as chair for Peter Ankerstjerne, MBA, COP, FRICS, IFMA Fellow, Global FM and Employee Services Lead for Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL). He will be joined by first vice chair Laurie A. Gilmer, P.E., CFM, SFP, LEED-AP, CxA, Vice President/COO of Facility Engineering Associates, P.C., and second vice chair Dean Stanberry, CFM, LEED AP O+M.

IFMA expresses gratitude to outgoing chair John Carrillo, CFM, IFMA Fellow for his leadership and support. Carrillo will remain involved as past board chair.

IFMA currently seeks association professionals to serve on the global board of directors. This executive body of the association has the responsibility for maintaining the fiscal integrity of the association by keeping it financially solvent. The three-year term of office begins July 1, 2020 and ends June 30, 2023.

The association seeks diverse leadership skills. Some attributes that will be part of the selection process for new board members include:

  • Demonstrated leadership and knowledge of the association
  • Recognized leader/champion in an IFMA chapter, council, community or regional advisory board
  • Strategic thinker and visionary to strive to build IFMA into a stronger organization that reflects current and future needs of the members, the profession and staff
  • Commitment to participate in two face-to-face board meetings plus 6-8 virtual board meetings a year
