IFMA’s FM Research & Benchmarking Institute announces 2019-2021 board of directors

IFMA’s FM Research & Benchmarking Institute (RBI) is pleased to announce the board of directors for 2019-2021:

Board members join RBI Director of Research and Operations Nickalos A. Rocha, MPA, in managing the activities and strategic direction of the institute. Directors serve for a period of two years, with the option for a third year.

“The IFMA Research and Benchmark Institute continues to position itself as a pivotal source for the facility management (FM) profession,” said RBI chair Bill O’Neill, CFM. “Recently, two highly skilled individuals were appointed to the RBI board. These appointments will contribute to RBI refinement and expansion of future international initiatives based on FM market and wider built environment needs. The new members’ experience and skill sets will contribute to advancing our efforts. We are strategically focused in our efforts globally and in expanding our joint partnerships.”

RBI was formed to conduct research in the field of facility management for practitioners and academics. The vision in developing RBI was to centralize IFMA’s research department and the IFMA Foundation’s research efforts into one organization. The institute provides the best possible research and benchmarking from the academic and applied sectors of FM and offers opportunities to attend FM research-based events.

 IFMA and RBI are grateful for all board members’ ongoing support and volunteerism and would like to welcome new RBI board members Mark Mobach, Ph.D. and Colleen Conklin, MSPH.

coleenColleen Conklin, MSPH leads research activities for Sodexo’s Global Corporate Services, providing insight and strategy for thought leadership, market trend analyses, and client solutions across multiple business and industry sectors. Conklin’s previous experience includes management and research roles with health research companies, utilities, the U.S. government (Departments of Defense and Energy, Federal Aviation Administration and National Parks Service) and IBM.​

mobach Mark Mobach, Ph.D., is a professor in Facility Management at Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, The Netherlands. He is also professor in Spatial Environment and the User at The Hague University of Applied Sciences and leading professor of the Hanze Research Centre for Built Environment, The Netherlands. Mobach is actively engaged in connecting architecture, facility management, interior design and real estate for a better organizational performance. Always on the crossroads of research, practice and education, his research projects are focused on education, health care, offices, penitentiaries, train stations and cities.
