World Workplace Europe meets Facility for Future delivers value & sets a high bar for next years’ event

April 01, 2019

With 800 attendees, an innovative program and inspirational keynotes, the World Workplace Europe meets Facility for Future conference which ran from 20 to 22 March 2019 in Amsterdam was a resounding success. The event was co-produced by the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) and Facility Management Nederland (FMN).

“Our conference this year was a milestone for IFMA in Europe,” said EMEA Advisory Board Chair, Jos Duchamps. “For the first time we discussed with EU delegates our contribution in new legislation. During the ‘inconvenient conversations’ about climate change, young scientists and politicians inspired and triggered us. The interaction in the workshops and sessions was amazing. The atmosphere in the Kromhouthal was great; during the sessions, the breaks and at the FM party.”

The conference theme of collaboration took center stage as FM professionals worked together to elevate FM in Europe and around the world. Attendees heard from inspirational keynote speakers including business speaker of the year Nigel Risner; collaborative relationship researcher Kate Vitasek; co-founder of property technology data company Unissu James Dearsley; and IT industry alum turned innovation consultant Nancy Rademaker.

One of the most popular elements of the event was also one of the most unique: behind-the-scenes facility tours, including Edge Olympic, the Heineken Experience, De Nederlandse Bank and the historic Rijksmuseum.

“Based on this success we will improve the services for our members to increase the Facility Management profession in Europe,” concluded Duchamps. “Looking forward seeing you next year!”
