IFMA celebrates publication of latest FM international standard, ISO 41001, Facility Management – Management Systems – Requirements with guidance for use

April 24, 2018

IFMA joins FM leaders around the world in celebrating the publication of a new management systems standard for the industry: “ISO 41001, Facility Management – Management Systems – Requirements with guidance for use.” The standard is available for purchase from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) at

This latest publication joins an increasing library of global FM standards produced by ISO — an independent, non-governmental organization and developer of international voluntary consensus standards. ISO published two FM standards in April 2017 (ISO 41011:2017, Facility management – Vocabulary and ISO 41012:2017, Facility management – Guidance on strategic sourcing and the development of agreements) and a third (ISO/TR 41013:2017 Facility management – Scope, key concepts and benefits) in July 2017.

For nearly 40 years, IFMA has worked with FM stakeholders around the world to develop and support global standards for the industry. Whether through leveraging a landmark collaboration with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or through earlier partnerships that gave rise to Global FM, IFMA has hailed industry standards as the key to unifying the practice of FM around the world.

IFMA has served as administrator on behalf of the American National Standards Institute U.S. Technical Advisory Group since 2012, playing a vital role in supporting the development of international FM standards.
