THE IFMA FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES ITS 2008 BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The IFMA Foundation has appointed its new executive committee and trustees for the 2007-2008 fiscal year. Peggy McCarthy, CFM and IFMA Fellow will be the Foundation’s chair; Charlie Claar, CFM, CFMJ, PE will serve as first vice chair; Melissa Van Hagan, CFM, CFMJ will be the secretary/treasurer; and Francis Khun, CFM, CFMJ will serve as the 2008 fiscal year past chair.
Peter Kirk, Jennifer Corbett-Shramo, IFMA Fellow, Andreas Rohregger, Eric Teicholz, IFMA Fellow and Kathryn Lopez, CFM will be completing their current terms as IFMA Foundation trustees. Pat Turnbull was elected to her first full term as a trustee. Lt. Col. Thomas L. Mitchell, Jr., USAF, CFM, CFMJ (IFMA’s second vice chair) will serve a term as a Foundation trustee.
The first for an Australian, Stephen Ballesty has been elected as the newest member to the Foundation Board of Trustees. He is the immediate past chairman of FMA Australia and has been an active member of the Association since 1994 and national Board member since 2001. On the Board he has been responsible for a wide range of knowledge, advocacy, governance and alliance initiatives including working on global issues with the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) since 2003.
Ballesty was appointed by the Australian government as a member of the Strategic Industry Leaders Group for the FM Action Agenda in 2004. He is currently the deputy chairman of the FM Action Agenda and managing director of Rider Hunt Terotech?a leading advisory services group.
Ballesty is a terotechnologist with a background in science, engineering, environmental research and management. He has over 20 years experience in property, construction and facilities-consulting predominantly in Australia and the U.S.A.
Andrew McEwan, FMA Australia’s current chairman stated, “This appointment recognized the significance of Stephen’s contribution to facility management leadership and his knowledge here and abroad over many years”.
The Foundation has two open trustee positions that will be filled in the near future.
The IFMA Foundation is a separate non-profit entity to the International Facility Management Association, which was formed in 11990 to promote and support scholarships, educational and research opportunities for the advancement for facility management worldwide
