SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN CHAPTER OF IFMA HOSTS INDUSTRY GATHERING

Brighton, MI – March 31, 2008 – The Southeastern Michigan Chapter of the International Facility Management Association recently hosted more than 60 building and facility managers for an educational session on Request for Proposal development and vendor prequalification. Panelists included Keith Vandenbussche, director of facility services, Barton Malow; Wendy Bonner, manager, Supplier Procurement, Barton Malow; and Doug Phillips, director of business development, Skanska USA Building Inc.  The event was held March 20 at Barton Malow headquarters, Southfield.

Phillips outlined RFP elements essential for selecting the right builder, designer or contractor, and Vandenbussche detailed the requirements of an RFP specifically for facility management services.  Bonner provided an overview of Barton Malow's prequalification process and supplier data base.

According to Chapter Vice President Margaret St. Andre, the event achieved its objectives.  “With an ongoing concern for building and operational costs and a need to fully understand the bid process, we were delighted to offer this educational opportunity for members and guests," she said.
