Selecting the ideal entryway system

By: | Jan 08, 2013

Entryway systems can be one of the most important decisions a facility manager makes to ensure a great first impression and maximize safety for a building. However, many times, the matting that is placed at a facility’s entrance is decided upon as an afterthought.

Selecting the wrong entryway system can add to safety concerns and costs. For example, did you know that:

  • According to Wausau Insurance, the average cost of a slip and fall related injury exceeds US$12,000.
  • The National Floor Safety Institute states that the average cost to defend against a slip and fall lawsuit is on the average of US$50,000.
  • Plaintiffs win 51 percent of premise liability claims, according to the Jury Verdict Research.

Learn more about the six key points to consider—functionality, safety, aesthetics, durability, serviceability and pricingwhen identifying the perfect entryway system by reading "How to Create an Ideal Entryway" in the November/December issue of Facility Management Journal
