SierraPine Introduces New Sustainable Fiberboard Product, Arreis

For nearly two decades SierraPine has been a leader in the production of sustainable medium density fiberboard panels and mouldings. Today, the company announced their latest innovation, Arreis™ SDF. Arreis™, a medium density fiberboard panel containing no added formaldehyde, is manufactured at the company's Medford, OR plant under the new product category Sustainable Design Fiberboard, or SDF.

Arreis™ SDF contains 100 percent recycled wood fiber from sustainable forestry operations, and is manufactured with a proprietary binder that surpasses the most stringent international emission standards. Although a brand new product introduction, Arreis™ already boasts a long list of third-party certifications, including SCS , EPP, ChiPS section 01350 and provides LEED™ credit support for Materials & Resources and Indoor Environmental Quality. Arreis™ is engineered to perform like a standard MDF product, but has the added benefit of extremely low VOC emissions at a competitive cost. It is engineered for applications such as cabinetry, wall paneling, furniture, shelving, architectural woodwork, casework, or anywhere that sustainable or environmentally preferable products are mandated, specified or requested.

SDF is a new product category developed with the express purpose of making it easier to identify sustainable composite wood products for architects, designers, specifiers and consumers who may be doubtful about which products are truly environmentally preferable. Sustainable Design Fiberboard products meet the lowest wood product VOC restrictions globally and contain 100 percent recycled wood fiber content.

SierraPine will continue to produce Medex^® and Medite^® II (also SDF products), which have become widely specified in the green building industry for more demanding applications such as high moisture areas and where high strength properties are required.
