IFMA and GEFMA’s “The Facility Manager’s Guide to Information Technology, Second Edition” now available

The fruits of a multi-year collaboration between the IFMA IT Community and the computer-aided facility management (CAFM) working group of the German Facility Management Association (GEFMA) have produced an updated edition of the popular book, “The Facility Manager’s Guide to Information Technology.” The second edition is now available for purchase online via Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Facility-Managers-Guide-InformationTechnology/dp/1938780000/) and Create Space (https://www.createspace.com/6523910).

Co-edited by Michael May, Ph.D., and Geoff Williams, FMP, an international team of more than 20 respected authors produced the book’s content, making this comprehensive subject and textbook an authoritative resource for the FM profession. This edition was pre-released at the Third Annual Technology Symposium, a collaborative effort between the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of IFMA and the North Texas Chapter of CoreNet, hosted at the Ericsson facility in Plano, Texas, USA, on Jan. 26, 2017. The editors also signed copies at the INservFM event in Frankfurt, Germany, on Feb. 21, 2017, and will ​hold a panel session on the book at the Facility Fusion Conference and Expo on April 6, 2017, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

About GEFMA and the CAFM (IT) Working Group

GEFMA is the German network for executives in facility management. With more than 1,000 corporate members, GEFMA represents providers and users of a broad range of facility services, including commercial, technical and infrastructural, real estate management, consulting, financial, and information technology. In-house facility managers as customers, investors, property owners and increasingly the public sector with its municipalities, are also part of the association. In Germany, GEFMA is the leading representative of both FM clients’ and FM suppliers’ interests.

In 2001 GEFMA members from FM research and education, CAFM software developers/providers, users and consultants formed the CAFM (IT) Working Group. It pursues the following goals:
