Certification is valid for three years. During this
time CFMs are required to earn 120 maintenance points
in at least two of the following four categories:
A list of point earning activities in each of these
areas is sent to each new CFM and is included in the
list below.
To maintain their credential CFMs submit a list of
the activities they performed along with the appropriate
supporting documentation. They also submit a processing
fee of $200 (U.S. dollars) for members and $250 (U.S.
dollars) for non-members. Payment can be made by credit
card by enclosing the type of card, account number and
expiration date with the package.
Maintenance packages must be received before three
months after each CFMs expiration date to be considered
on time. Packages received three months and one day
to six months after the expiration date will also need
to include a late fee of $100 (U.S. dollars). If more
than six months pass, the exam must be retaken.
