FibroGen is a research-based biotechnology company using its expertise in connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) and hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) biology to discover, develop, and commercialize novel therapeutics for serious unmet medical needs.
You will hear about the challenges of blending new (2007 w/L occupancy) and old building codes; first commercial application of L with chemistry on the 5th floor, challenges for biotech moving into an urban environment; efforts to control costs while creating sophisticated environments; applications of fully demountable glass walls for offices and conference rooms.

Today, Genentech is among the world's leading biotech companies, with multiple products on the market for serious or life-threatening medical conditions, more than 100 projects in the pipeline and a long term plan for growth.

Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center San Francisco, Calif. 1:30 p.m - 2:30 p.m.
Since 1866, Laguna Honda has been delivering high quality, culturally competent rehabilitation and skilled nursing to San Francisco citizens. It represents the most extensive investment in care by any city or county in the US. The replacement project adds 700,000 square feet to 150,000 square feet of renovated historic buildings. The project uses Center for Health Design research to create therapeutic value in the buildings themselves, healing gardens, petting zoo and a meadow walk. The designers, Anshen & Allen with Stantec, are working toward LEED certification for the complex making it one of the top 10 green projects in the country.
