The Business of FM Course : March 28-31, 2009
Spend four days immersed in the principles, characteristics, theories and concepts that make up the business of FM. This series will include an introduction to FM, as well as managing, advancing and evaluating the business of FM. To enable course participants to determine their degree of knowledge in each of the nine competency areas, IFMA has provided pre- and post- course self assessment checklists. These checklists combined with detailed vocabulary and learning activities are designed to advance participants’ general knowledge of facility management. The course concludes with a group case study experience.

Leadership and Management Competency Course: March 30-31, 2009
Want to establish a best-in-class FM operation or learn how to build one from the ground up? Are you creating a new FM department? Have you been asked to take over an existing FM department? Do you simply want to assess your current operation and find out how to make it better? People, places and processes can help you build the type of FM department that's right for your organization. This competency area presents the FM as a planner, organizer, leader, coordinator, and evaluator. The following skills are reflected in the day-to-day activities of the facility manager.
