Course Overview
This course will provide an informational overview of the roles, responsibilities and core competencies that make up the facility management profession. More than just a broad summary, the course will use a scenario-based learning style so that attendees can explore and examine realistic workplace situations in the global marketplace. Students will benefit from a hands-on learning experience and valuable exposure to the 11 major FM competency areas as identified by IFMA. The course will help attendees grow in the facility management profession, advance their career and better communicate with members of their FM department or team. Special pricing is available for IFMA chapter/council members, colleges/universities, corporate groups and GTA. |
Objectives:
- Learn to explain the importance of facility management.
- Develop an awareness of the global facility management profession and identify a variety of FM roles and responsibilities.
- Understand how potential FM challenges may be faced at a variety of different organizations.
- Identify the 11 major competency areas that comprise the field, and understand how FMs encounter these areas as they carry out their duties.
- Learn about the additional education and training available to help new FMs further their careers.
