IFMA, RICS connect on value at World Workplace Europe

June 26, 2017

IFMA and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) are celebrating successful completion of the World Workplace Europe Conference and Expo, held 30 May-1 June in Stockholm, Sweden.

The more than 300 built environment professionals in attendance were inspired by the progressive and innovative spirit for which Sweden is renowned. The long-anticipated proceedings offered participants a chance to connect with each other, with the global facility management (FM) community and with the unique environment that people have come to expect from IFMA and RICS.

Those who attended the conference got a glimpse of the future workplace, with comprehensive discussions about workplace strategy and how technology will shape the human-facility interaction for years to come. From visionary futurist keynote speakers to cutting-edge tactics to improve occupant engagement and productivity, World Workplace Europe did more than simply report the upward trajectory of the FM industry; it propelled it forward. The world-class program included not only a broad variety of international speakers and presentations, but also panel debates and workshops. Participants even had the option to participate in offsite facility tours of innovative FM projects in Stockholm.

The event was the first held in Europe by the landmark IFMA-RICS collaboration, which was announced in 2016. Among the collaboration’s stated goals is unification of the global FM community through shared standards. The conference also featured the inaugural meeting of IFMA’s European Advisory Board, which was created to forge a mutually beneficial connection between European nations and the FM community.

Slated for 15-17 May, World Workplace Europe 2018 will be held at another unique venue: La Casa Llotja de Mar in Barcelona, Spain.
