Feb. 19, 2014

Facility management needs innovation, integration and vision

  • More than 700 international delegates expected
  • Parallel sessions in business conference and research symposium
  • Exhibition showing specialized FM solutions

"Innovation, Integration, Vision" will be the focus at this year’s European Facility Management Conference (EFMC) from 4 to 6 June in Berlin (www.efmc-conference.com). More than 700 facility management professionals from all over Europe and abroad are expected to attend the business conference, research symposium and the exhibition at Andel’s Hotel in the German capital.

EFMC 2014 will be hosted by the European Facility Management Network (EuroFM) and the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), with the German Facility Management Association (GEFMA) participating as local host. According to the hosting partners, EFMC is "the most recognized, all-encompassing educational and networking event" for FM professionals in Europe.

"The rapidly moving world poses new challenges that facility managers face in their complex work — from energy management to organizational transformation and demographic changes. As the role of FM continuously increases in line with the new needs and demands of clients, innovation in FM provides a substantial boost for the new business models and integrated FM processes," said EuroFM Chair Ron van der Weerd.

Of the venue, IFMA Chair Jon Seller commented: ″The dynamic city of Berlin provides the perfect blend of history and modern culture for our delegates to explore.″

In two parallel business conference tracks as well as two parallel research tracks on 5 and 6 June, EFMC 2014 will give answers to crucial questions and suggest solutions for upcoming issues in the international FM industry. Attendees are also invited to participate in accompanying events, such as the welcome reception on 4 June at Capitol Yard Golf Lounge, the EuroFM awards and gala dinner on 5 June at Classic Remise and the ePoster competitions for bachelor and master students.

The Platinum Sponsor of EFMC 2014 is IBM, the Gold Sponsor is ECS and the Associate Sponsor is Compass Group. The event is also being supported by Conject, Saint-Gobain Ecophon, RESO Partners, Axon Active, Bilfinger HSG Facility Management, WISAG and McFelder Translations. Companies such as CenterMine, MainManager, Manhattan Software, MCS and TOPdesk will present their FM industry products and services in the trade exhibition. EFMC is being organized by Informa Exhibitions and EUROFORUM. Further information is available at www.efmc-conference.com.
